Clarification on criminal record check requirements, process, and timeframe

April 14, 2025

RECO recently sent an email about the new criminal record check process.

To alleviate confusion, please share the message below with the agents in your brokerage.

For a RECO registration that expires on or after June 1, 2025, you might be required to obtain a Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC).

Renewals can begin sixty days before the expiry of your registration. To simplify the process, when you click the “Renew Now” button on RECO’s MyWeb, you will automatically be redirected to the CRJMC application (through Triton Canada), or you will be directed to proceed with your RECO renewal.

Once your CRJMC results have been delivered to RECO (within one day), you will be able to continue to renew your registration through MyWeb.

 CRJMC fee

 Through MyWeb: $22.54 ($19.95 + HST)

Please do NOT apply directly through Triton Canada as you will incur additional costs that are non-refundable.

 STEPS:

  • Receive 60-day renewal reminder notification email from RECO

  • Login to MyWeb dashboard

  • Complete continuing education requirements (if not already done)

  • Click “Renew Now” (automatic redirect to the CRJMC application process)

  • Complete CRJMC application process (pay $22.54 fee)

  • Receive request confirmation email from Triton Canada (usually within 15 minutes)

  • Return to MyWeb dashboard and click “Renew Now” button to renew your registration

Please advise agents to contact registration@reco.on.ca with any questions. Thank you.
